JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Assistant supports the sales team in building customer relationships and maintaining sales pipeline activity. This role provides hands-on experience in business development support, prospect research, cold outreach, quoting support, and account management within a B2B manufacturing environment.
The assistant will assist with identifying potential customers, researching target industries, conducting outreach to prospective clients, and supporting the sales team in preparing quotes and proposals. In addition, the assistant will help maintain customer information within the CRM and assist with follow-up activities that move opportunities through the sales pipeline.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Assist the sales team with prospecting activities and identifying potential customer opportunities.
- Conduct outbound outreach including cold calls and emails to introduce company products and services, qualify potential opportunities, and schedule meetings for the sales team.
- Assist the sales team with preparing quotes and proposals by gathering customer specifications and supporting the pricing and quoting process for labeling and packaging solutions.
- Maintain accurate customer and prospect information within the company’s CRM system and document sales activities and follow-up communications.
- Support the sales team in managing opportunities within the sales pipeline, including coordinating follow-up with prospective and existing customers.
- Assist with account management activities by helping maintain relationships with current customers and identifying potential reorder or expansion opportunities.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):
Highschool diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or related field is a plus.
At least 1 year of experience in customer service, sales support, inside sales, administrative support, or a related role. Experience using CRM software or other sales support tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to confidently communicate with new contacts via phone and email.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and internet research tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new systems, processes, and product information quickly.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks and follow through on assignments.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
This position primarily involves sedentary work, including extended periods of sitting while using a computer and telephone. The employee must be able to communicate clearly with others, review information on a computer screen, and perform tasks that require concentration and attention to detail. Occasional standing, walking, and lifting of light office materials may be required.
CONFIDENTIALITY:
The employee may have access to confidential company information including customer data, pricing, and internal business information. The employee is expected to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with company policies.
CHARACTER OF SUPERVISION:
The Sales Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Sales Director or assigned sales team leader. Work assignments and priorities are provided with guidance, and the assistant is expected to complete tasks with increasing independence as knowledge and experience develop.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with standard business equipment including computers, phones, and office software. The position may require collaboration with multiple departments including sales, customer service, and production.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS:
Frequent contact with internal employees including members of the sales team, customer service representatives, and other departments. Limited external contact with prospective customers may occur through phone or email outreach.

None.
