Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and reliable Southeast Regional CDL Class A Driver to join our team. This role involves operating tractor-trailers across Georgia, North Carolina, and surrounding states, delivering freight efficiently and safely. As a key member of our logistics network, you'll ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations and maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across regional routes, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment
- Load and unload freight using appropriate manual handling techniques or forklift when necessary
- Navigate routes using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing fuel efficiency
- Comply with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations when applicable
- Manage documentation for shipments, including delivery logs and safety reports
- Maintain vehicle safety by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any mechanical issues promptly
- Follow all safety protocols for handling dangerous goods or hazardous materials during transport
Experience
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience driving commercial trucks, including route driving in regional settings
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks
- Experience with freight handling, load & unload procedures, and logistics cargo management
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT compliance standards, and hazardous materials handling is highly desirable
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially involving freight that requires careful manual handling or special equipment like forklifts or roll-off trucks
