E&L Paving and Construction is a small business in La Porte, IN. We are fast-paced and our goal is to E&L Paving and Construction is a well-established family-owned business with over 40 years of experience – working primarily for the railroad industry. Specializing in commercial paving, excavation, and site preparation, we also have a crushing division offering aggregates for pickup or delivery. Our scope includes most of Northern to Central Indiana, Southwest Michigan and the Chicago Metro area and surrounding communities. Our railroad experience includes excavating for new tracks, preparing subbase with compacted aggregate, building & installing tracks, turnouts, and concrete tub crossing installation, complete track removal, excavation, and paving. We also have many years as a commercial excavation contractor, working closely with General Contractors to achieve complete site preparation, foundation digs, survey, and grading expertise. We also provide trucking services for both materials and equipment. Winter months include snow removal and salt application..
GENERAL Laborer Job Description
We are looking for a fit, strong general laborer to perform a variety of physical tasks. General laborers' responsibilities include receiving goods, performing construction site duties and operating construction vehicles.
To be successful as a general laborer you must be able to perform a wide variety of tasks that require stamina and an eagerness to learn on the job. A good general laborer is able to understand instructions and carry them out efficiently within the given deadline.
General Laborer Responsibilities:
- Operate construction vehicles.
- Use power tools.
- Haul goods from the receiving area.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
General Laborer Requirements:
- A high school qualification or equivalent.
- Stamina and strength to perform manual labor.
- A valid driver's license – Chauffer’s license preferred
- Excellent hand-eye-coordination skills.
