Position Summary :
Bartenders at Saint Florian are our direct connection to guests in regard to both guest experience and communication. Bartenders for our Front of House Team are personable, attentive, able to multitask, and able to prioritize workload while maintaining a cool head and prioritizing the guest’s needs and feedback. In addition to guest interactions and meal-period services, servers perform tasks commonly associated with the position, such as polishing silverware, glassware, and basic cleaning duties.
Bartenders at Saint Florian are encouraged to learn and approach their position from a point of curiosity and methodology. They are expected to know the details of the menu and how to navigate guest questions, always relying on their team and Leadership to support with any additional knowledge. We believe that creating an environment of accountability and learning fosters a culture of self-improvement and diligence, and strive to create a culture where growth and development are rewarded with the possibility of additional advancement and opportunities. Bartenders are exposed to numerous niche products and craft cocktail techniques, and should approach their position from a position of responsibility and with a strong desire to learn.
Bartenders report directly to the General Manager. The entire Executive Team at Saint Florian are always available for any questions or concerns that you may have, and we encourage an open door communication policy with all work-related items during appropriate time periods. All employees and managers are expected to conduct themselves calmly and respectfully in all interactions, and to maintain the standards set forth in our employee handbook while on premises or representing the company.
Responsibilities :
The Critical Responsibilities of Bartenders are :
- Maintain a Clean, Organized, and Stocked Dining Room for Service
- Maintain Station Pars and Product Needs
- Interact with Guests with True Hospitality and Calm Professionalism
- Maintain a Neat Appearance Per The Saint Florian handbook for Uniform Standards
- Arrive to Work Punctually and with Proper Presentation and Knowledge
- Check In With Leadership Upon Arrival
- Maintain Up to Date Knowledge of Changes to all Menus
- Knowledge of Toast POS System
- Accurately enter customer’s orders in POS system
- Complete Opening and Closing Sidework
- Inform Management of any Outages, Shorts, or Issues
- Report Immediately any Guest Issues to Management
- Maintain Server Station Pars and Needs
- Clock In and Out Daily, as Well as for Breaks, Reporting any Issues to Management Immediately
- Additional Tasks as Assigned, such as Cleaning, Stocking, Organization, Moving Furniture, and Other Tasks as Assigned by Management and Leadership

Qualifications :
All Bartenders at the Saint Florian Have the Following Experience and Ability Requirements :
- The Ability to Communicate and Receive Communication in English
- Previous Experience with Hospitality and Service Work
- Prepare and serve beverages to customers following standard recipes
- Knowledge of various drink recipes and cocktail mixing techniques
- Operate cash register and handle transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- Able to Accurately Read, Enter, and Ensure Fulfillment of Orders and Guest Needs
- Well Organized
- Exhibits a Sense of Urgency and Focus
- Team Player who Works Well with Others & Supports Their Peers
- Understanding of NY and Internal Policies for Safe and Appropriate Food Handling and Compliance
- Works well Under Pressure
