Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of our hotel facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to guarantee guest comfort, safety, and operational efficiency. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, and building interior components to ensure optimal functioning.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems using schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct welding, carpentry, painting (including residential painting), and plumbing repairs as needed to maintain facility standards.
- Maintain facilities equipment including HVAC units, electrical panels, plumbing systems, and other building infrastructure through scheduled upkeep and emergency repairs.
- Follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with health regulations and industry standards.
- Document all maintenance activities thoroughly in logs or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including schematics and repair procedures.
- Lead small teams or coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs or large-scale projects when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or guests, ensuring minimal disruption.
Experience
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, repair operations (MRO), or a similar role within hospitality or commercial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, and building interior upkeep.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, PLCs, and electrical equipment repair techniques.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools (including welders), ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to electrical work, plumbing, HVAC systems, welding, and general facilities maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and effective teamwork.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to prioritize tasks independently while working collaboratively with others.
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, painting walls, or working in confined spaces as required.
