Position Summary
The Yard Technician maintains the yard facility, supports vehicle and equipment staging, and assists with basic maintenance tasks to keep the fleet and equipment organized and ready for daily operations. This role serves as key support for shop and dispatch operations, ensuring vehicles and equipment are properly staged, cleaned, and prepared each day.
Primary Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Duties
- Stage and organize vehicles and equipment in the yard to support daily dispatch operations.
- Perform basic equipment cleaning, washing, and inspection tasks.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials, equipment, and supplies for crews.
- Support fueling operations in coordination with the Fuel Driver.
- Maintain yard cleanliness and organization, including proper storage of materials and equipment.
- Assist shop technicians with basic tasks, such as parts runs and equipment positioning.
- Monitor and report vehicle or equipment issues observed during yard staging to the Shop Manager.
- Support proper storage and handling of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Assist with yard security, including gate access and after-hours equipment securing.
- Support inventory tracking of tools, equipment, and yard supplies.
Pay: $20.00 - $32.52 per hour
