Storopack is a family owned, privately held international company with 18 manufacturing locations throughout North America – Corporate headquarters resides in Cincinnati, OH. Storopack specializes in protective packaging for “in-the-box” product applications. Storopack produces flexible packaging materials such as; Air Cushions, Paper Padding, Foam-in-Place, Loose Fill, Bubble, Mailers, Pre-Molded Foam Cushions and the packaging systems producing these materials on-demand at the customer facility. We work directly with the client and sell our products through distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality of Master Rolls and minimize scrap by permanent watching over correct settings of extruders, per the set-up sheets and recipes.
- Meet production targets per extruder. Targets set by Shift Supervisor.
- Reduce extruder downtime to the absolute minimum.
- Continuously verify proper extruder setups, settings and necessary adjustments to maintain quality, productivity and lowest possible amount of scrap.
- Ensure extruders are running in line with set-up sheets and recipes.
- Execute quality control by monitoring (during production) and testing (after production) Master Rolls. Testing is done in line with quality check procedures.
- Ensure that raw materials are unloaded from rail cars into silos or brought from stock (boxes, octabins) into production. Same applies for additives and necessary supplies, such as e.g. cores for Master Rolls.
- Ensure that only Master Rolls of good quality go into the Master Roll stock.
- Request immediate maintenance assistance when there is a breakdown. In parallel inform Shift Supervisor about breakdown.
- Responsible for maintaining housekeeping standards.
Qualifications:
- Prior extrusion or blown film experience is required.
- Basics in mechanical or electrical engineering experience required.
- Mechanically inclined in machines.
- Team-player and able to take responsibility.
- Must have good oral and written communications.
