The majority of the work is to be conducted in a machine shop. Sometimes it will be necessary to go to production work areas to take measurements on parts or equipment.
Proficiency in G-Code, M-Code, blueprint reading, layouts, using calipers, using micrometers, and programing CNC equipment and setup.
Cleans and lubricates machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains and foreign matter.
Sets controls to regulate machining, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Studies sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.
