Duties
- Greet clients warmly and efficiently check in and out pets for appointments, surgeries, or emergencies
- Manage appointment scheduling to optimize clinic flow and reduce wait times
- Handle medical billing and collections with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain detailed records of patient visits, treatments, and owner communications using veterinary software systems
- Assist with kennel duties by coordinating pet care, feeding, and cleaning when needed
- Support veterinary staff by preparing exam rooms, sterilizing equipment using aseptic techniques, and handling laboratory samples
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, upcoming appointments, or billing inquiries
- Support animal handling tasks such as dog training, restraint, or basic animal husbandry to assist veterinary procedures
Experience
- Previous experience in veterinary reception or customer service roles is highly desirable
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and restraint techniques enhances your effectiveness in this role
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures, pet grooming, pet care, and animal husbandry is a plus
- Experience with kennel management or animal catheterization can be beneficial
- Strong skills in medical collection processes and laboratory experience are advantageous
- Ability to handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, and equines with confidence and compassion
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain veterinary procedures and billing information to clients
