InGenesis is currently seeking a Part-Time Biomedical Technician II to work with our client. In this role, you will support the maintenance, calibration, installation, and repair of patient care, scientific, surgical, and electronic medical equipment. This role provides technical expertise for equipment evaluations, troubleshooting, incident investigations, and project management, while coordinating with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely service, equipment performance, and contract compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support, maintenance, and safety inspections for medical equipment used in patient care, monitoring, and surgical procedures.
- Complete equipment support services and projects by established deadlines.
- Use software tools to support equipment management and communication needs.
- Assist with evaluating medical equipment before purchase based on technical expertise and experience.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients to ensure timely completion of equipment repairs and support activities.
- Train nursing and clinical staff on proper equipment operation to reduce user errors and improve patient care.
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to biomedical equipment.
- Communicate with customers regarding equipment status, repairs, and access needs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain professional and proactive communication throughout the repair process via conversations and email.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in biomedical technology (BMET) or Electronic Engineering.
- Two years of Biomedical Technology experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one-to-one basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Four years of BMET, military BMET or hospital manufacturer field service experience
