MRI Technologist
Location: Bethesda, MD
Schedule: Full-Time (40 Hours/Week)
Worksite: Onsite at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), National Institutes of Health (NIH)
A-Team Solutions is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to support the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. The selected candidate will support cutting-edge clinical and research MRI studies, working alongside physicians, MRI physicists, researchers, and multidisciplinary scientific teams. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative neuroscience and imaging research while utilizing advanced MRI technologies and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI, fMRI, diffusion MRI, and MR spectroscopy (MRS) procedures for clinical and research studies.
- Conduct MRI safety screenings and ensure compliance with MRI safety protocols and NIH regulations.
- Operate MRI equipment, including scanner consoles, coils, peripheral hardware, and imaging systems.
- Execute regular quality assurance and quality control procedures on MRI scanners and related equipment.
- Collect, process, archive, and manage MRI/MRS imaging data and associated research records.
- Monitor participant safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures.
- Assist with MRI scheduling to maximize scanner utilization and study efficiency.
- Collaborate with investigators to optimize imaging protocols and support development of new research methodologies.
- Train research staff, fellows, and new users on MRI scanner operation, safety procedures, and imaging protocols.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance activities as needed. ]
- Perform venipuncture and administer MRI contrast agents in accordance with study protocols and physician orders.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification with Advanced MRI Certification required.
- Bachelor's degree in MRI Technology or related field required; Master's degree in a science-related discipline preferred.
- Experience performing clinical and/or research MRI procedures.
- Knowledge of MRI safety procedures, imaging protocols, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience with MRI data collection, post-processing, and image archiving systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting research imaging studies in academic, hospital, or government research environments.
- Experience with functional MRI (fMRI), MR spectroscopy (MRS), neuroimaging, or advanced research protocols.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and scientific research teams.
