What You’ll Be Responsible For
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll accurately and on time for employees across multiple states
- Calculate wages, deductions, taxes, commissions, reimbursements, and benefits
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain payroll records and assist with payroll reporting requirements
Bookkeeping & Accounting
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks and other accounting software
- Properly categorize and document all financial transactions
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and month-end adjustments
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the general ledger
- Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and payment tracking
- Support accounts payable functions as needed
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning processes
- Prepare financial reports including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports
- Conduct account analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records
- Support leadership with reporting and financial insights
Team Collaboration
- Work alongside our existing accounting and QuickBooks support team
- Communicate professionally with managers, vendors, and team members
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
- Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll and financial information
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping experience
- Minimum of 2 years of payroll processing experience
- Experience processing payroll for multiple states
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping fundamentals, debits and credits, and account reconciliation
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and execute work in a timely manner
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Preferred
- Experience with Xero, Sage, Quicken, or other accounting software platforms
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
- Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
- Experience supporting growing small businesses
