Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Roll Off Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience operating various types of hook lift and cable trucks,. This role involves driving to various locations, safely loading and unloading materials, and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
Duties
- Operate roll-off trucks and other heavy vehicles for the transportation of waste and recyclable materials.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload containers using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including pick-up and drop-off times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate schedules and address any issues that may arise during transport.
- Adhere to traffic laws and company policies while driving in various weather conditions.
- Assist with mechanical troubleshooting of vehicles as needed, utilizing mechanical knowledge to address minor repairs or maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is preferred with a clean driving record.
- Experience driving heavy-duty vehicles such as dump trucks, tractor-trailers, or flatbeds is preferred.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading materials.
- Previous delivery driver experience is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on the road.
- Mechanical knowledge is essential for performing basic vehicle maintenance tasks.
