Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Milling Machine Operator to join our field crew. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating milling machines and working in asphalt milling and paving environments. This role is critical in preparing road surfaces for resurfacing, and requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate milling machines (e.g., Wirtgen or equivalent) to remove asphalt or concrete pavement
- Set up and monitor milling depth and slope according to project specifications
- Perform basic maintenance checks and daily equipment inspections
- Assist with loading and unloading of equipment as needed
- Work closely with the paving crew to ensure timely and smooth operations
- Follow safety protocols and wear proper PPE at all times
- Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 years of experience operating milling machines in the field
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
- Familiarity with DOT standards and safety procedures is a plus
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
