Duties
- Perform professional massage therapy sessions including deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy to alleviate muscle tension and pain. Also chair massage in a senior community
- Conduct patient assessments to understand individual health conditions, preferences, and treatment goals.
- Apply knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to develop effective treatment plans tailored to each client.
- Educate clients on self-care techniques and occupational health practices to support ongoing wellness outside of sessions.
- Maintain detailed records of treatments provided, patient responses, and progress notes in compliance with health regulations.
- Ensure a safe, comfortable environment by adhering to hygiene standards and safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals or medical staff when necessary to optimize patient care and pain management strategies.
Experience
- Proven experience as a massage therapist with a strong background in patient service and customer care.
- Familiarity with various massage techniques including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and other modalities used for pain relief.
- Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to therapeutic massage.
- Prior experience working in a med spa or occupational health setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to assess patient needs accurately through effective communication and professional judgment.
