About the Role
We’re building the future of jewelry for Gen Alpha – playful, expressive, trend-forward, and designed to celebrate individuality. As a Jewelry Designer, you won’t just follow trends – you’ll help define them. You’ll create meaningful collections that blend fashion, storytelling, and innovation into must-have accessories that delight customers both in-store and across social platforms.
This role sits at the intersection of design, product development, and brand storytelling. You’ll transform emerging trends, cultural moments, and consumer insights into commercially successful jewelry collections that inspire self-expression and drive excitement.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of Gen Alpha and Gen Z aesthetics, fashion and social media trends, materials, color, and product innovation. You’ll combine exceptional jewelry design skills with thoughtful packaging and presentation to create cohesive collections that are trend-right, emotionally engaging, and commercially impactful.
Key Responsibilities
Design Jewelry That Leads Culture
-
Create trend-forward jewelry collections across all categories that surprise and delight Gen Alpha consumers.
-
Translate Gen Alpha behaviors, fashion trends, cultural moments, and digital platforms (TikTok, Roblox, gaming, creators, etc.) into innovative jewelry concepts and commercially successful collections.
-
Design meaningful collections that balance storytelling, wearability, value, and trend-right aesthetics- from everyday essentials to seasonal fashion moments and collaborations.
-
Develop jewelry concepts from initial inspiration through final productions, including sketches, CAD direction, color palettes, materials, finishes, stones, and packaging.
-
Design within licensed brand guidelines while also creating original collections for Claire’s proprietary brands that strengthen our unique point of view.
-
Identify emerging materials, construction techniques, and design details that elevate the product while meeting cost, quality, and manufacturing requirements.
Collaborate Across Cross-Functional Teams
-
Partner closely with Merchandising to align on assortment strategy, price architecture, and category opportunities.
-
Work with Brand & Marketing to ensure product storytelling, campaigns, and visuals are cohesive and scroll-stopping.
-
Collaborate with Planning to ensure designs meet margin targets, timelines, and volume expectations.
-
Engage with Production to bring concepts to life — from ideation to shelf.
Drive Innovation
- Identify whitespace opportunities in Jewelry (play, personalization, sustainability, tech integration).
-
Push boundaries on packaging, formats, and user experience.
-
Embed “designed for sharing” moments into every product.
Who You Are
-
A culturally fluent jewelry designer who understands Gen Alpha mindset, not just Gen Z leftovers.
-
Obsessed with emerging trends, but driven to evolve them into original, commercially successful jewelry collections- not simply follow them.
-
Strong in jewelry design, product development, color, materials, and packaging, with an exceptional eye for proportion, craftsmanship, and detail.
-
Passionate about creating meaningful jewelry that blends fashion, storytelling, collectability, and self-expression.
-
Comfortable in working in a fast-paced matrixed, cross-functional environment, partnering closely with Merchandising, Sourcing, Planning, and Marketing.
-
Able to move quickly, iterate often, and balance creativity with commercial thinking.
-
Digitally native – you understand how jewelry trends are born, shared, and sold across social platforms and how products come to life beyond the retail shelf.
Qualifications
-
3+ years in jewelry/product design (retail, DTC, or branded/licensed environments).
-
A portfolio that shows trend relevance + commercial success.
-
Experience working with cross-functional teams (Merch, Brand, Planning).
-
Strong Adobe Creative & AI design suite skills (and ideally 3D/rendering tools).
-
Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials is a plus.
Why This Role Matters
Gen Alpha isn’t waiting — they’re already shaping culture. This role is about meeting them where they are and building what they didn’t even know they wanted yet. You’ll help redefine what jewelry looks like for the next generation — playful, inclusive, expressive, and always evolving.
