Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of menu items with attention to presentation, flavor, and quality, including techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production.
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and preparation methods.
- Support high-volume food production during busy service times while maintaining consistency and efficiency.
- Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling practices and dietary department standards when applicable.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations, including catering events and special meal preparations.
- Maintain knife skills and other culinary techniques to enhance dish quality and presentation.
Skills
- Proven experience in dietary aide roles or dietary departments is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal requirements.
- Strong background in restaurant or food industry settings with fine dining experience preferred.
- Expertise in food preparation methods such as poaching, braising, grilling, and general cooking techniques.
- Excellent food handling skills combined with knowledge of food safety management practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in menu planning, food service operations, and catering support.
- Skilled in the use of kitchen tools and knife techniques essential for precise food preparation.
