Family Child Care Education Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of affiliated family child care providers and conduct in-person home/program visits
- Travel throughout the Bronx to provide direct coaching sessions to family childcare providers and staff in their programs
- Be part of a team in assessing quality of affiliated family child care programs
- Develop consistent, stable and supportive relationships with affiliated family child care providers
- Work closely with UFCCN Educational Director on all aspects of curriculum development, implementation, coaching and program improvement
- Be part of a team in supporting developmentally appropriate practice for mixed age groups in affiliated family child care programs
- Support providers with developing and implementing individualized family/child plans to address children’s social-emotional development needs
- Coordinate parent/family involvement with family workers for workshops and information sessions
- Design and deliver workshops and information sessions for families and providers
- Support family workers to refer appropriate services to families/children based on developmental needs of children
- Assist with the recruitment of potential family child care providers
- Maintain documentation on FCC programs and enrolled children as required by Department of Education and UFCCN
- Other duties as requested by Network and Educational Directors to fulfill job responsibilities
Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or related field required
- Knowledge of child development birth to three required
- Two to three years of experience working in an early childhood center-based or family childcare setting required
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must meet all applicable federal, state and city requirements to work with children in an early childhood setting
- Valid driver's license and an automobile preferred
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)'
