Job Title: Wellness Care Companion
Location: Homewatch CareGivers of Cincinnati
Reports To: Office Manager / Director of Operations
Employment Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (based on availability)
Job Summary:
Homewatch CareGivers of Cincinnati is seeking compassionate, dependable Wellness Care Caregivers to provide non-medical support and care to clients in their homes. This role focuses on improving quality of life by offering a customized, person-centered Wellness Plan. Socialization with meaningful activities to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, help with daily activities, and a sense of safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide companionship through conversation, activities, and emotional support
Personal hygiene care - incontinence care (if needed)
Aid with mobility which includes transferring and repositioning (if needed)
Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, dishes, and tidying common areas
Support daily routines including reminders for meals, hydration, and medications (no administration)
Encourage and assist with participation in hobbies, games, walks, and social outings
Prepare simple meals and provide mealtime companionship
Accompany clients to appointments or errands (if needed)
Observe and report any changes in condition, behavior, or environment to supervisor
Maintain respectful, professional, and confidential client relationships
Follow all safety protocols, care plans, and company policies
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience working with seniors or in a caregiving setting preferred, but not required
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to be patient, empathetic, and reliable
Must pass a background check and pre-employment screening
Willingness to complete required training and ongoing education
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Able to stand, bend, kneel, and move around for extended periods
Comfortable assisting clients with mobility guidance, as needed
