This position provides crisis intervention, case management services and safety planning to families and individuals impacted by domestic violence. Responsibilities include responding to crisis calls, providing crisis intervention, case management and other support services.
Duties:
· Answers crisis calls and responds to walk-in participants; provides crisis intervention and information; assists in creating personalized safety plans and/or determines appropriateness of Shelter protection; makes referrals to other service agencies as appropriate. On call when assigned.
· Screens incoming clients according to established intake procedures.
· Discusses housing options and choices with shelter participants; assessing the needs, development, and implementation of individualized service plans.
· Provides back-up support to other areas of the agency as needed and assigned.
· Provides advocacy based counseling/case management
· Collaborates with community resources to effectively meet client needs, supporting community efforts in providing services.
· Provides mobile advocacy as needed
· Accurately maintains required files and records of individual client services; inputting and maintaining data tracking and reporting requirements.
· Maintains strict confidentiality of participants at all times.
· Maintains security and safety of facility.
· Shelter upkeep: Clean shelter rooms for the next guests.
· Monitors compliance with program participant’s rights and responsibilities; interacts with participants to promote and model appropriate behavior.
· Coordinates with Lead Shelter Advocate in reviewing needs and tasks in shelter; provides input and recommendations for improvements.
· Must complete background check including fingerprinting and sex offender registry.
