Do you love animals and enjoy working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? Dickson Animal Clinic is looking for a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you'll play an essential role in providing exceptional care for our boarding and hospitalized patients while helping maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming hospital environment.
- Boarding care and hospitalized pets by providing food, medication, fresh water, exercise, comfort, and attentive daily care.
- Monitor each animal's behavior, appetite, and overall well-being, promptly communicating any concerns to the veterinary team.
- Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments using low-stress handling techniques whenever possible.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, and outdoor spaces according to hospital protocols.
- Assist with laundry, cleaning dishes, stocking supplies, and maintaining organized work areas.
- Follow all hospital safety and sanitation procedures to provide a healthy environment.
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care as directed.
- Maintain accurate records related to boarding care, medications, feeding schedules, and treatments.
- Potentially train for a receptionist position to help other departments when needed.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their health and well-being.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Previous kennel, veterinary, or animal care experience is preferred but not required—we're happy to train the right candidate.
- Flexible availability, including some weekends and holidays.
- Someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized workspace and providing excellent care to every patient.
- Must be 18 years or older
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
This is a physically active position that requires the ability to:

- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday.
- Safely restrain animals of varying sizes and temperaments.
- Perform repetitive movements involving the hands, wrists, and arms.
- Work around animal hair, cleaning chemicals, noise, and varying weather conditions.
