Work on Homes on Wheels — Not Assembly Line Repairs
Let’s be clear upfront:
This is not auto repair.
These are homes on wheels—and fixing them takes real skill: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, diagnostics… and the ability to figure things out when no one else can.
If you’re the kind of technician who enjoys solving problems—not just turning the same wrench all day—you’ll fit right in here.
Why Johnson RV
For over 25 years, Johnson RV has helped customers create unforgettable travel experiences through premium RVs and conversion vans.
We’re one of the West Coast’s leading RV dealerships, and we’re growing.
Our service team is critical to what we do—we don’t just sell RVs, we keep people on the road and enjoying them.
What Makes This Role Different
This is not engine or drivetrain work.
You’ll work on the living systems that turn a vehicle into a functioning home:
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Appliances
- Slide-outs
- Interiors and structural repairs
Every day is different.
One moment you’ll be diagnosing an electrical issue, the next repairing plumbing, fixing water damage, or solving a problem no one else could.
If you like variety, challenge, and problem-solving, this role delivers.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, hydraulic, and appliance systems
- Troubleshoot complex, multi-system issues
- Perform repairs and reconditioning on pre-owned RVs
- Complete clean, high-quality work with strong attention to detail
- Communicate effectively with team members, service advisors, and manufacturers
- Work independently while contributing to a strong team environment
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for skilled, dependable technicians who take pride in doing things right.
Required:

- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
- Experience working across multiple systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to meet hiring requirements
Preferred:
- RV-specific experience
- Carpentry or construction experience (water damage, structural repair)
- Trade certifications (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
Tools:
- Must have basic technician tools (specialty tools provided)
Compensation & Benefits
- $25+/hr depending on experience
- Consistent workflow (mix of customer and internal work)
- 401(k) with employer match
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
- Paid vacation
- Ongoing training and development

- Heated, well-equipped service facility
- Team-oriented, low-drama work environment focused on quality
Growth Opportunity
- Clear path to higher pay and advanced technician roles
- Skill expansion across multiple systems
- Manufacturer training and certifications
Who This Role Is NOT For
This won’t be a fit if you:
- Prefer repetitive, single-system work
- Only want flat-rate engine/chassis jobs
- Avoid troubleshooting or complex diagnostics
What Makes a Top Tech Successful Here
- You enjoy solving problems others can’t
- You take ownership of your work
- You care about quality, not shortcuts
- You’re comfortable learning and working across multiple systems
The Bottom Line
We value skill, attitude, and work ethic—not just resumes.
If you’re a technician who takes pride in quality work and wants to be part of a team that actually values craftsmanship—
Apply today and help keep adventure rolling.
