Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition.
- Support residents during activities and engage them in social and recreational programs to enhance their quality of life.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, medication administration, and resident progress in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Ensure a clean, safe environment by performing routine cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols.
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, or dementia care is highly valued.
- Experience in group home settings, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, patient monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care practices is essential.
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration procedures, first aid, CPR certification, and manual handling safety is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with diverse populations including seniors and individuals requiring memory or hospice care.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and supporting residents’ social work needs.
