Contract Details:
- Location: Phoenix, AZ
- Contract through the 26/27 school year – 20 hours per week.
- Contract follows the academic district calendar
Salary:
- Total per week: Up to $1,000
- Total per Hour: $45 - $50
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
- Arizona, or multistate, RN license
- Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP)required (or ability to obtain)
- Current standard first aid card and CPR card
- At least 2 years of prior professional nursing experience in pediatrics required; experience in school nursing a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff members as needed.
- Work directly with the family of any students in need of 1:1 nursing care to administer personal medical care, including transportation, and any school medications.
- Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health concerns and provide appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses or special health needs.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students.
- Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics, including illness prevention, nutrition, and hygiene.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address health concerns and promote a healthy school environment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and serve as a resource for school health policies and procedures.
- Stay up to date on current nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines related to school health services.
