We are looking for part-time employees who are available to work 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. The typical schedule will consist of three 8-hour shifts and one 5-hour shift each week.

We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and patient individuals to provide support in a structured, home-like adult day center environment.
Position Summary
The Adult Center Specialist provides direct care and support to participants while helping create a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment. This position works closely with participants, families, and team members to promote independence, dignity, and individualized care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to participants, including assistance with daily living activities and medications as appropriate
- Plan and facilitate recreational, social, and life-enrichment activities
- Monitor participant well-being and communicate concerns or changes to appropriate staff
- Maintain accurate daily documentation and participant records
- Assist with participant care plans and individualized support needs
- Support snack preparation, clean-up, and general organization of the center
- Follow all health, safety, and emergency procedures
- Assist with opening and closing procedures and facility security
- Enter participant information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Attend trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities
- Maintain compliance with all agency, state, and federal requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Two years of related experience in human services, social services, healthcare, or senior care preferred
- Experience supporting individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Must meet agency driving requirements (minimum age 21 and licensed for at least 3 years)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with seniors, families, and team members
- Ability to support both individual and group activities
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn EMR systems
- Reliable transportation and a good driving record
Required Certifications (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License
- CPR and First Aid Certification (agency provided)
- Safety-Care Certification (agency provided)
Additional Requirements
- Annual PPD/TB screening
- Hepatitis B immunization or signed waiver
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
This position involves medium physical activity, including frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting participants. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
