Position Summary
The Assistant Manager assists the Restaurant Manager in overseeing all restaurant operations, driving sales, ensuring operational excellence, developing employees, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Assistant Manager serves as a key leader and assumes responsibility for restaurant operations in the Restaurant Manager's absence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations Management
· Assist with daily restaurant operations and execution of company standards.
· Ensure food quality, food safety, and sanitation compliance.
· Monitor labor and food costs to achieve profitability goals.
· Ensure proper inventory management and ordering procedures.
· Conduct regular restaurant inspections and operational audits.
Team Leadership
· Recruit, interview, onboard, and train team members.
· Coach and develop Shift Leaders and Team Members.
· Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
· Promote employee engagement, accountability, and retention.
· Assist with scheduling and labor management.
Guest Experience
· Ensure exceptional customer service standards are consistently maintained.
· Address guest concerns and recover service opportunities.
· Foster a welcoming and customer-focused environment.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Assist with payroll review and timekeeping accuracy.
· Maintain personnel files and required documentation.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and employment practices.
· Support local marketing and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
· High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
· Minimum 2 years restaurant management experience preferred.
· Strong leadership and coaching skills.
· Knowledge of food safety regulations.
· Basic understanding of labor management and financial reporting.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand for extended periods.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to perform all restaurant operational functions.
