About the Role
Stone Fortress is hiring a Procurement & Inventory Specialist to keep our construction operation running on the right materials, at the right cost, in the right place. This is a blended purchasing-and-inventory role — you'll source vendors, manage our Purchase Order system, keep supply and maintenance-kit inventory organized, and make sure our warehouse and field vehicles are stocked and audit-ready.
You'll work closely with the Director of Operations, executing and administering purchasing decisions rather than signing off on contracts yourself — this is a hands-on coordination role, not a desk-only buyer position.
What You'll Do
Procurement
- Source vendors, run RFPs, and compare costs to maintain a strong preferred-vendor list
- Administer and enforce a company-wide Purchase Order system
- Sourcing and vetting subcontractors against a management-approved system
- Reconcile the corporate credit card monthly
Inventory
- Manage office supply and maintenance-kit inventory
- Conduct semi-annual physical audits of maintenance van stock
- Own warehouse inventory management, cycle counts, and OSHA-compliant organization
What You Bring
- Experience with purchasing, procurement, or inventory management — construction or field-services background a plus
- Comfort managing vendor relationships, RFPs, and cost comparisons
- Strong organizational skills — you can run an audit, catch a discrepancy, and keep a system honest
- Familiarity with Purchase Order systems and basic OSHA compliance standards
- APICS CPIM/CSCP or OSHA-10 certification preferred (pay differential available for certified candidates)
- No prior experience required for entry-level candidates — we'll train the right person
Compensation
- $18.00/hr to start for candidates with no prior experience
- Up to $27.00/hr for experienced and certified candidates
- Overtime paid at 1.5x for hours over 40/week
