Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while ensuring that our products are well-stocked and organized. The ideal candidate will have experience in retail sales, inventory management, and a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
This opening is for primarily WEEKEND closing shifts (until 9 or 10pm), and mid-shifts to support the leads. We do our best to keep schedules as consistent as possible.
We are looking for a part time employee, for an average of approximately 13 hours a week.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
Responsibilities
- Verifying customer's ID for age-restricted purchases.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting shoppers with product selections, answering questions, and resolving issues promptly.
- Operate cash registers, process transactions, and handle customer inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Manage inventory control through effective stocking and organization of products on shelves.
- Load and unload merchandise from delivery trucks using a hand cart as needed.
- Receiving deliveries, ensuring all items are accounted for and properly stored.
- Maintain cleanliness in the store, including regular cleaning of work areas and restocking supplies as necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient merchandising and product displays.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cash registers/point-of-sale machines is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory effectively.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and retail math is essential.
- Excellent communication skills; demonstrates an ability to understand both verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required, with a focus on safety protocols during all tasks.
- A proactive approach to maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe shopping environment for customers.
