Assistant Manager – Sushi All-You-Can-Eat Restaurant
Job Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food quality standards, and leading the front-of-house and back-of-house teams. This role helps create a positive dining experience while maximizing efficiency, profitability, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Supervise and support servers, hosts, sushi chefs, kitchen staff, and bussers.
- Ensure exceptional customer service and promptly resolve guest concerns or complaints.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, freshness, and compliance with restaurant standards.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety standards in accordance with health regulations.
- Manage staff scheduling, attendance, and labor costs.
- Train, coach, and motivate employees to maintain high performance and teamwork.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering food, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
- Help control food waste and maintain profitability in an all-you-can-eat dining environment.
- Handle cash management, POS system operations, and daily sales reporting.
- Support marketing promotions, special events, and customer loyalty initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience in sushi, Japanese cuisine, or all-you-can-eat dining operations is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer skills.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
