Optimal Air Solutions is a rapidly growing Houston area HVAC company looking for a motivated and knowledgeable commissioning and quality assurance specialist supporting the Commercial New Construction (CNC) team! The ideal candidate will be dedicated to commercial projects and supporting Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foreman. Opportunity to expand HVAC experience and knowledge, including RTU’s, chillers, VRF’s, process equipment, DOAS units, etc. He/she will also have high critical thinking skills and be able to solve issues in the field. Responsibilities
- Responsible for start-ups of new commercial equipment following manufacturer specifications/requirements, including quality checks and proper documentation (O&M manuals, warranty documents, as-built drawings)
- Validate work completed is in accordance with contractual documents (drawings/specifications) – HVAC equipment, controls/automation, air distribution, and start-up/testing
- Manage labor warranty jobs (typically ~1 year upon project completion) and identify improvement opportunities that can be implemented during the initial installation phase
- Actively participate in continued education opportunities and specialized training, specifically new products and technology (equipment, automation, etc.)
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required based on customer and business needs
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience in field (REQUIRED) Commercial boiler, chillers, and refrigeration preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, and restaurant equipment.
- Extensive experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial HVAC equipment.
- Ability to read and decipher mechanical drawings, plans, manuals, etc
- EPA Certification and TDLR License (required).
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work overtime, including evenings and weekend on-call rotations.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, climbing, and crawling for extended periods.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to provide at least two professional references.
