Ostrich Land USA is looking for 2 new professionals to hire. For those that don’t know us well, Ostrich Land is a 32 acre Ostrich and Emu farm. We have 80+ Ostriches and 70+ Emus on the farm. We invite the public to come on the property for safe viewing and feeding of the birds with an admittance fee. We also have a retail Gift Shop consisting of Shirts, Collectibles, Egg Shells, Fresh Ostrich and Emu Eggs, Jewelry, Feathers, Plush Toys, and more. The Gift Shop alone is a busy entity and quite a bit of work. Here is a list of duties below:
OL Sales Team Member:
Duties included but not limited to; Cashier operating (Square POS with scanner, very user friendly), retail items pricing, stocking and re-stocking of all items, cleaning of store (sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, swifter-ing, glass cleaning, etc.), bringing in new packages and sorting items, taking packages and items to and from our storage warehouse, refilling feed bowls, collecting bowls from bowl return areas, Customer Service and Communication (you will be speaking to a lot of customers daily about the birds, the farm in general, the surrounding areas, the eggs, all of the normal retail store questions, and much more, and we’re looking for someone that has polite manners and good communication skills but can also delegate and instruct the customers who are feeding the birds). As the seasons change, the jobs and duties change as well due to weather and daylight. This position can be a full or part-time position but weekends and Holidays are a must. That being said we are flexible with scheduling. Position starts at $18 -20per hour DOE.
