American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of travel RN experience and a compact RN license in hand.
-
Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a Short Term Acute Care hospital
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-7:00
-
Required to work every other weekend
-
Patient ratio of 1:4
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Floating between units and sister facilities based on skill set required
-
Uses Epic for charting
-
Active RN license (Compact) currently in hand
-
Current BLS certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
-
Prior travel RN experience required
-
Epic charting experience required
-
Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and Rapid Response/Code teams
-
Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
-
Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration required)
-
Skilled in respiratory care including tracheostomy management, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
-
Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
-
Experience with IV insulin protocols and continuous bladder irrigation
-
Must have a vehicle for this assignment

Provide medical-surgical and telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
-
Perform early mobilization and CHG bathing protocols
-
Manage surgical drains and support plastics patient population
-
May be required to float to sister facilities to meet staffing needs
-
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)

First-time travelers will be screened for consideration

Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
-
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
-
Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel RN and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
-
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
