Duties
- Assist in food preparation by slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and dishwashers safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to uphold sanitation regulations
- Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to ensure food safety and quality control
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks, communicate effectively, and meet service deadlines
- Adhere strictly to recipe guidelines and portion control to maintain consistency across all dishes
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience with food preparation, cooking, and food service operations in a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment and knife skills including slicing techniques
- Experience in menu planning, meal prep, and food safety management systems
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen team members
- Background in the food industry or culinary experience that demonstrates attention to detail and adherence to recipes
