Position Overview
Our established CPA firm located near Rockville Centre is seeking a versatile Audit & Tax Associate with 3–5 years of experience in public accounting. The ideal candidate enjoys a hybrid role, balancing the precision of auditing with the technical strategy of tax preparation. You will work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing high-level service and contributing to the firm's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit & Assurance: Lead or assist in all stages of financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations for small-to-mid-sized businesses.
- Tax Preparation: Prepare complex individual, corporate (S-Corp/C-Corp), and partnership tax returns.
- Client Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and gathering necessary financial data.
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to GAAP and current tax laws/regulations.
- Research: Perform technical tax and accounting research to solve complex client issues.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 3–5 years of recent experience in a public accounting firm.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA license (or active pursuit of CPA) is preferred.
- Hybrid Skill Set: Proven proficiency in both Auditing and Tax Preparation.
- Software: Experience with industry-standard software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, Drake, or QuickBooks).
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial clients.
