This role coordinates and implements marketing, communications, fundraising, events, community engagement, volunteer activities, and donation acquisition efforts based on the plans, priorities, and budgets established by the leadership team — connecting people to our mission, filling our stores with donated goods, and building the partnerships that make the power of work possible across Wayne and Holmes Counties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing & Communications
- Meet regularly with the leadership team to understand organizational priorities and implement approved marketing, fundraising, and donation acquisition plans.
- Develop social media, advertising, email, content, and blog/SEO plans that support approved organizational goals and budgets.
- Create and manage marketing campaigns and content across digital, print, social media, email, website, and in-store channels.
- Produce marketing materials, including graphics, advertisements, newsletters, signage, presentations, videos, promotional materials, and organizational publications.
- Maintain the organization's website, social media accounts, content calendar, brand standards, and consistent messaging.
- Coordinate internal marketing requests and gather stories, photographs, statistics, and program information from departments.
- Coordinate projects with the organization's marketing agency, media representatives, printers, website providers, and other partners.
- Track analytics and report key marketing, fundraising, event, volunteer, community engagement, and donation acquisition metrics to the immediate supervisor monthly.
Fundraising, Events, and Community Engagement
- Coordinate fundraising and organizational events, including the Golf Classic, Impact Breakfast, all-staff meetings, and cultural events.
- Manage event promotion, sponsorships, registration, vendors, volunteers, donor communications, and logistics.
- Represent Goodwill at community events and coordinate speaking engagements, presentations, and Goodwill Jeopardy.
- Develop relationships with community partners and manage Goodwill's volunteer network.
Donation Acquisition
- Implement the annual donation acquisition plan established by the leadership team to increase donations of clothing, household goods, and other acceptable items.
- Develop partnerships with businesses, schools, colleges, churches, civic groups, and other organizations for donation drives and collection events.
- Coordinate partner communications, promotion, schedules, transportation needs, collection logistics, follow-up, and results tracking.
- Assist with organizational projects and other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to educate staff, stakeholders, and the community about the full scope of the agency.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication with all staff and external audiences.
- Ability to build effective internal and external relationships and provide excellent customer service to persons served, staff, customers, donors, and supervisors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Compliance with all established work rules, policies, procedures, and safety rules.
- Completion of required training: customer service, harassment, diversity, orientation, drug and alcohol, hazardous material, loss prevention, and workplace violence.
- Flexibility – evening and weekend hours required for events.
- License Check: valid driver’s license and proof of insurability or can provide transportation.
- Background Checks: Offer of employment contingent upon background check.
- Drug and Alcohol Screen: Must pass a drug and alcohol screen prior to employment. Subject to random testing.
Preferred
- B.S. degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2–5 years of nonprofit marketing experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with social media platforms and a basic understanding of analytics.
- Familiarity with Canva and basic graphic design experience.
- Excitement to learn and grow with an organization centered in the community around helping people through the Power of Work.

Working Conditions
- Operates primarily in an office environment, with travel to events and retail locations.
- Limited opportunity for remote work based on the position.
- May require flexibility during peak periods (event season, campaign launches, donation drives).
- No positions supervised.
Pay Rate: $24 / hour
