Position Summary:
The Lead Host/Hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests and plays a key role in creating a welcoming, organized, and efficient dining experience. In addition to standard hosting responsibilities, the Lead Host/Hostess oversees the host stand operations, assists with training and coaching hosts, manages reservations and seating flow, and works closely with management to ensure exceptional guest service.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet all guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.

Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments using reservation management systems.

Coordinate guest seating to maximize restaurant efficiency while maintaining excellent service standards.

Lead and support the host team during shifts, ensuring all duties are completed accurately and efficiently.

Train new hosts on company policies, guest service expectations, reservation systems, and seating procedures.

Monitor dining room capacity and communicate with managers and servers regarding table availability and guest flow.

Address guest concerns or special requests professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host stand area.

Answer incoming phone calls, provide information, and assist with reservations and event inquiries.

Assist with coordinating large parties, special events, and game-day seating arrangements.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and service expectations.

Support management with administrative tasks related to reservations, guest feedback, and host scheduling as needed.

Qualifications:

Previous host/hostess or restaurant experience required.

Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
