We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our team in Shelby, NC.
This critical role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services necessary to support manufacturing operations. You will build strong supplier relationships, monitor vendor performance, resolve supply chain issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure material availability and operational success.
Location: Shelby, NC
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 per year (Depending on Experience)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM or 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities, including issuing purchase orders, expediting orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Evaluate and analyze purchasing requirements through the MRP system; experience with JDE is preferred.
- Review and help improve procurement policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Product Management, and other departments to identify purchasing needs and address supply challenges.
- Analyze supplier performance related to quality, delivery, pricing, and overall reliability.
- Develop recommendations using data to support effective supply chain decisions.
- Coordinate supplier nonconformance issues with internal teams and vendors.
- Authorize invoice payments and merchandise returns when necessary.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships throughout all phases of the procurement process.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
- Experience working within ERP systems and procurement software; JDE experience is preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to resolve supply chain challenges efficiently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
