Job Summary
The Facilities Custodian is a key part of our operations team, responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and organized working environment within our manufacturing facility. This role involves comprehensive shop floor upkeep, machinery maintenance, and the safe handling of industrial waste. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of industrial cleaning protocols and a commitment to maintaining an efficient and well-organized workspace.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Shop Floor Upkeep: Perform all janitorial duties on the shop floor, including sweeping, mopping, and floor scrubbing to remove debris, oil, grease, and coolant spills.

Equipment & Waste Management: Operate a forklift to collect and transport metal recycling, ensuring proper sorting and storage. Ensure the proper disposal of all industrial waste materials, including metal shavings, and regularly empty trash and waste receptacles.

Machinery Maintenance: Clean and maintain all machinery and tools, including CNC machines, milling machines, and lathes, using appropriate cleaning solutions and techniques.

Facility Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness in all common facility areas, including restrooms, office spaces, and employee break rooms.

Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols, utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing shop environment. The role requires the regular use of cleaning tools and equipment, including a forklift. Occasional lifting and carrying of materials may be required.
Work Environment:
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds (lifting aids are available).

Education/Experience:
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience preferred.
