As a Part-Time Park Maintenance Technician, you’ll take on a wide range of tasks, including:

Maintaining turf, irrigation systems, and landscaped areas.

Performing minor construction, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.

Keeping facilities clean, including restrooms and common areas.
-
Collecting trash and ensuring parks are safe and inviting.

Operating County vehicles, tools, and equipment to support maintenance and improvement projects.

Assisting with special events that bring the community together.

This position is currently anticipated to be filled at Bear Creek Regional Park (Central District). However, it may be assigned to another location based on operational needs.
Hiring Rate: $18.50 - $21.00 hourly.
The anticipated work schedule is Friday and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., subject to change.

Under supervision, assists with a variety of semi-skilled labor tasks in the areas of park and grounds maintenance, facility or equipment maintenance and construction. Employment is subject to the terms, conditions, and policies detailed in the Personnel Policies Manual (PPM). This position requires regular in-person presence as an essential job function.
- Performs semi-skilled labor in any or all of the areas of grounds maintenance, facility or equipment maintenance, and construction, including turf and irrigation maintenance, minor construction, trash collection, and facility cleaning, including cleaning of restrooms.

Operates assigned tools and equipment, including power tools, as needed for assigned maintenance and improvement projects.

Drives County vehicles and other equipment to perform assigned duties; operates all County vehicles and equipment per County guidelines.

Performs routine and preventative maintenance and cleaning of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools.

Provides departmental support for special events and other activities.

Performs other duties as required.
Supervision Exercised: This classification does not have supervisory authority and requires no supervision or direction of others.
Supervision Received: Receives intermittent supervision. This classification normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. Regular direction, guidance, and coaching from supervisor is expected. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically.
Duties are performed both indoors and outside in the field in various weather conditions. Requires physical effort to perform frequent lifting, bending and climbing. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Physical hazards may be present when mixing or working with chemicals and working with or near power tools and motorized equipment. May be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays. May be required to work in park locations other than the preferred site location indicated. This is a part-time position regularly working up to 25 hours per week.
