About the Role
You’ll build authentic relationships with adults receiving behavioral-health services, offering
encouragement, advocacy, and mentorship. You’ll help individuals identify strengths, navigate
community resources, and achieve personal recovery goals.
This is a community-based position—you’ll meet people where they are in their recovery
journey.
Responsibilities
- Build trusting, supportive relationships with adults in services
- Encourage participation in treatment and recovery planning
- Model healthy coping, communication, and self-advocacy skills
- Assist individuals in accessing community resources
- Maintain professional boundaries and accurate documentation
- Participate in supervision, meetings, and required trainings
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Oregon-certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS)
- No less than 2 years of sustained mental-health and substance-use recovery
- Ability to use lived experience professionally to support others
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record and reliable personal vehicle (required)
- Comfortable providing services in community settings, including private homes
- Must pass a criminal and abuse background check
Preferred: Experience in community-based behavioral health, bilingual (Spanish/English), and
knowledge of local resources.
