Position Summary:
- Knowledge of scientific field and strategies for engagement, instruction and assessment
- Create hands-on, inquiry-based, project-based lessons that build excitement to science
- Demonstrate scientific concept using models, technology, and other standards or teacher-prepared instructional aids
- Compile, administer, and grade examinations, lab experiments, and assignments in a timely manner
- Develop and implement a curriculum and lessons that will foster knowledge and skills essential to effectively teach students in the grades assigned
- Knowledge and training in lab work with students
- Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
- Promote high standards and expectations for student learning
Qualifications of Candidates:
Education:
- High School or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Education, or related field
- Master’s Degree in Science, Education, or related field (encouraged)
- Doctoral Degree in Science, Education, or related field (encouraged)
Certifications: Science, Education, or related field
Years of Experience: 3 years or more
Software Skills: Google Suite, Notability, iPad
Other Job Knowledge, Skills, Ability, Behaviors:
- Knowledge and skill in use of instructional technology, including iPads, in the classroom.
- Must be supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in the Roman Catholic environment preferred.
- Excellent presentation skills with skill in use of instructional technologies.
- Excellent oral and written English -language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
- Must have excellent classroom management skills and have demonstrated ability to engage students.
- Exemplify professionalism in behavior and performance.
