POSITION SUMMARY
The Imaging scheduler is responsible for coordinating and scheduling diagnostic imaging procedures in efficient, accurate, and patient- centered manner. This position works closely with patients, providers, imaging technologists, and other team members to ensure timely scheduling and smooth patient experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate and schedule routine and urgent diagnostic imaging exams for CT, MR, and Ultrasound at BG Imaging Center.
- Manage high volume inbound and outbound calls. Direct when needed.
- Provide patients with accurate appointment instructions and exam preparation including fasting requirements and arrival times at time of scheduling.
- Provide appointment reminder calls for all modalities.
- Relay any authorization information that may result in rescheduling an appointment.
- Fax orders and provide documentation through EMR systems for patients that are completing exams at other facilities.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with coverage at the front desk when needed
- Must follow the organization’s Code of Conduct.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Competency in Microsoft Office, EMR, and other medical software.
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and staff both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle patient issues tactfully and professionally.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate in English.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous radiology experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of experience working with patients in either a hospital or office setting is preferred.
- Experience working with EMR/RIS systems preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced imaging environment.
- Strong patient assessment and communication skills.
