Join Our Team at DCFS: Executive Management Advisor

We are looking for an Executive Management Advisor to join our DCFS Team in Baton Rouge Region Parish. The incumbent of this position will work with various departmental initiatives and has a special project oversight. This position should possess the knowledge and experience with all agency components, including service provisions, budget and legislative issues.

Eight years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus five years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus five years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
An advanced degree, or a Juris Doctorate, plus four years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:

Serves as a member of the Secretary's executive leadership team and participates in strategic planning, policy development and problem resolution to ensure quality service delivery of the department's program.

Responsible for strategic planning and development of meaningful performance measurements, especially relative to changes being made due to reorganizing and/or those that are necessary due to budget constraints.

Performs high level executive program reviews and audit functions for the Secretary relative t the agency's policies and management, operation of program and offices, and the services provided by the agency.

Responsible for keeping special projects on task and ensuring that the agency projects are coordinated and aligned with the mission and vision.

Serves as an advisor to the Secretary.

Represents DCFS on task forces and initiatives.

Responsible for representing the agency at various meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Job Appointment.
Works Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
Louisiana HB 420 requires all prospective DCFS employees to complete and clear multiple background clearances prior to employment with this agency.
