Vehicle Acquisition Specialist

Pay: $45,000–$75,000 per year
Schedule: Monday–Saturday
Experience: 1–3 years preferred
About the role:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing quality pre-owned vehicles to build and maintain our dealership inventory. You'll work closely with trade-in customers and private sellers to secure vehicles that meet our standards and pricing targets.
Key responsibilities:
- Source and acquire used vehicles through trade-ins, auctions (physical and online), and private-party purchases
- Conduct vehicle appraisals and assess market value using tools such as Manheim, Black Book, and KBB
- Negotiate purchase prices with sellers to maximize profitability while maintaining inventory volume goals
- Monitor local and regional market trends to identify in-demand vehicles and adjust acquisition strategy accordingly
- Coordinate with reconditioning and sales teams to ensure smooth vehicle intake and lot-ready preparation
- Maintain accurate records of all vehicle purchases, titles, and documentation in the dealer management system (DMS)
- Build and maintain relationships with fleet companies, rental agencies, and repeat sellers to generate consistent sourcing pipelines
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in automotive purchasing, appraisals, or dealership operations preferred
- Strong knowledge of vehicle makes, models, trim levels, and market pricing
- Comfort working with auction platforms (Manheim, ADESA, OVE, etc.)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work independently and meet inventory acquisition targets
- Experience with dealer management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, DealerSocket) a plus

Pay: $49,245.68 - $59,306.62 per year
