Key Responsibilities:
- Last-Mile Logistics: Safely operate heavy-duty delivery vehicles (P1000s and 26ft box trucks) for local and regional routes.
- Route Optimization: Follow assigned schedules while utilizing your knowledge of Norfolk/Hampton Roads roadways to ensure efficiency.
- Safety First: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DOT compliance).
- Customer Experience: Act as the face of FedEx Ground, providing professional service and handling goods with care.
- Daily Operations: Manage delivery logs, confirmations, and equipment (hand trucks/scanners) to maintain accurate records.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of professional delivery experience preferred (Amazon, UPS, or similar courier experience is a huge plus).
- Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record).
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift, move, and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs (with provided equipment).
- Efficiency: Ability to handle high-volume routes (160+ stops per day).
- Compliance: Must pass a DOT Physical and Drug Screening (Note: FedEx policy includes testing for Marijuana).
