A growing, mission-driven general contractor supporting work across California is seeking a Senior HR Generalist to support their team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding for field and office positions
- Administer employee benefits programs and serve as primary point of contact for employee questions
- Manage employee relations matters with professionalism and discretion
- Administer leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, and ADA accommodations
- Manage HRIS platform and support transition from ADP to BambooHR
- Maintain and update company policies and employee handbook
- Support performance management processes and manager coaching
- Coordinate workers compensation claims and reporting
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Maintain accurate HR recordkeeping and documentation
- Coordinate training programs and track completion
- Manage offboarding and termination processes
- Support basic compensation administration and benchmarking
Requirements
- 5+ years of HR generalist or HR manager experience
- Strong working knowledge of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and California employment law
- Experience with HRIS platforms; ADP experience required, BambooHR experience a plus
- Comfortable owning HR operations independently in a lean environment
- Construction or contractor industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
