Scrap Metal Recycling Yard
Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Saturday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
Overtime: Time-and-a-half pay for qualifying overtime hours

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Excavator Machine Operator to work at our scrap metal recycling yard. The operator will be responsible for safely operating an excavator to move, sort, load, and process scrap metal throughout the yard.
The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and be comfortable working in a busy scrap metal recycling environment. Bilingual communication in English and Spanish is a must.
Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate excavators to move and sort scrap metal.
- Load and unload scrap metal trailers.
- Use excavator attachments to handle and organize different types of scrap.
- Move materials throughout the recycling yard.
- Assist with loading trucks and trailers efficiently and safely.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report any mechanical problems.
- Follow all company safety procedures and yard rules.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate with drivers, coworkers, and management.
- Perform additional yard duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bilingual English and Spanish — REQUIRED.
- Previous excavator operating experience required.
- Scrap metal, recycling, construction, or heavy equipment experience preferred.
- Must be able to safely load and unload scrap metal trailers.
- Must be dependable and have good attendance.
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must follow all safety procedures and operate equipment responsibly.
- Must be physically capable of performing general yard work as needed.
- Must be willing and able to work Monday through Saturday.
Pay & Schedule
$25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Monday–Saturday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM
Time-and-a-half pay for qualifying overtime hours.
