Responsibilities
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, including preschool, toddler care, infant care, and special education needs.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social interaction among children.
- Manage classroom routines such as mealtime, nap times, diapering, and playtime with attention to safety and hygiene standards.
- Use effective classroom management techniques to guide behavior positively and foster respectful interactions among children.
- Provide individualized support for children with disabilities or special needs, ensuring inclusive participation in all activities.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and behavior management reports.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's development, milestones, and any concerns.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed diligently; hold current first aid certifications to respond promptly in emergencies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards.
- Support caregiving duties such as diapering, feeding, and comforting children as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training related to childhood development, classroom techniques, and health & safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare settings, preschool environments, or as a nanny or babysitter is highly valued.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early education best practices.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or behavior management are advantageous.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with patience and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining a lively and engaging atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with parents, guardians, colleagues, and children.
