We are seeking an experienced customer service professional with a background in a manufacturing environment. Strong skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and accurate data entry are essential. Experience with international shipping documents and procedures is highly valued and will support our global customer base.
You will work closely with internal service, technical, production, and logistics teams to ensure customer needs are clearly communicated and addressed. This role requires collaboration, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers via phone and email, providing timely, accurate, and professional support.
- Process customer orders received from customers and outside sales representatives.
- Provide product and technical support; maintain strong working knowledge of manufacturing products and applications.
- Inform customers of pricing, stock availability, shipping dates, anticipated delays, and order status.
- Coordinate with production, shipping, and logistics teams to resolve delivery issues or delays.
- Review inventory availability and production schedules to support accurate delivery commitments.
- Support customers with proper product usage and application questions.
- Handle complex or escalated customer issues and see them through to resolution.
- Qualify customers and work within multiple pricing schedules.
- Maintain accurate documentation, order data, and customer records.
- Compile data and prepare reports or summaries for internal stakeholders as needed.
- Communicate trends, customer feedback, and issues to internal teams to support continuous improvement.
- Support and inform the outside sales team regarding customer activity and territory trends.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a customer service role, with strong preference for manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Above‑average digital literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and accurate data entry.
- Experience handling international shipping documentation and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
- Dependable, self‑motivated, and customer‑focused.
- Comfortable handling complex issues without constant supervision.
Preferred Experience:
- Senior‑level or lead‑level customer service experience in manufacturing.
- Experience working closely with sales, production planning, and logistics.
- ERP or order management system experience.
- Technical product support exposure.
