EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assists the Shift Supervisor with staffing, quality control, training, and equipment needs; ensures operational continuity in the Supervisor’s absence.
Serves as Shift Training Officer, delivering field and remedial training, mentoring staff, reviewing charts, assisting with narcotics distribution, and supporting continuing education and driver training programs.
Responds to emergency calls, prioritizes treatments based on critical assessments, and coordinates medical services. Monitors shift activity, making real-time decisions on unit deployment and service prioritization during high call volume, transfers, or adverse conditions.
In the Supervisor’s absence, reviews staff reports for accuracy, identifies concerns, and ensures proper completion and maintenance of shift documentation.
Provides information and support to partnering agencies, including law enforcement and fire services.
Responds to public inquiries and complaints; participates in community outreach to promote safety, prevention, and awareness of EMS services.
Ensures vehicles and equipment are operational, properly stocked, and supplied with necessary medical materials.
Performs duties of a Paramedic.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
